I found an unusual way for the solution of the problem: 1) download the latest driver available from the Lexmark website for X9575 2) Install the driver on your Windows 10, do not forget to keep the USB cable plugged into the printer 3) when choosing the connection, WiFi school, use the appropriate moment credentials and SSID of your WiFi network 4) complete the installation and restart the printer at the end. I think this would be trivial for someone with the right knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 7 print driver API's. I am eagerly awaiting a response from the team at Microsoft. I have even less luck with a pure wireless connection. This was done with the USB cable connected.
I dont know where to find the logs for this, but I checked the firewall and the settings (rules) for the printer and the Lexmark utilities are all open (ie rules are enabled for incoming and outgoing connections). What this looks like to me is there are some firewall or security issues having to do with the Virtual USB port.
